“Today I photograph our country. I only take photos of Israel to show it to the world in the most beautiful way,” said Asaf, who is the father of two and lives in central Israel but travels throughout the territory to capture his images.

“I usually get up very early and leave around 3 or 4 in the morning to be in time for sunrise and before the crowds arrive to photograph nature without too many people. Normally I take photos in solitude and I enjoy being like this without anyone with nature, that is how the best results are obtained” , he expressed.

Asaf uses traditional cameras and drones to capture his shots of Israeli nature and landscapes. According to him, drone photography has come a long way in quality in recent years.

“The drone is already approaching professional cameras, although it still lacks. You can still get really good results” , assured the photographer.

“I always have a note on my phone that I keep adding places to shoot to. The next place I think I'll go to photograph after the lockdown is Ein Afek , a nature reserve in Haifa. But I have quite a long list that I grow every day” , he says.

Asaf also revealed that there are places he returns to at different time periods because, he said, every time he returns to the same place he finds different angles.
