IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Dear customer, we want to inform you that for reasons of public knowledge and following the prevention campaigns arranged by the national authorities, the possibility of withdrawing international shipments from our branches with Customs in person is SUSPENDED until the free movement of people is normalized.

Remember that on the occasion of DNU 297/2020 decreed by the Presidency of the Nation and in compliance with it, you do not have to leave your house.

For those shipments that require prior customs verification, THE MAIL REPRESENTATION OPTION IS AVAILABLE

Enter the International Shipping portal and request free Mail Representation.

We make the verification procedures before Customs for you, so that you can receive the shipment at your home.

Did you make an online purchase abroad, are you about to do it, or are you going to receive a gift?

We present you the step by step for the new Door to Door service:

  • Register in the International Shipping Portal of Correo Argentino.
  • Make a "Notice of Purchase".
  • I received the notification when your shipment arrives in the country.
  • Complete the content declaration and payment management.
  • Receive the package at your address or pick it up at a branch, as appropriate.

1. Register in the Portal of International Shipping of Correo Argentino
Enter https://epago.correoargentino.com.ar and select the option "I'm new, I want to register" and complete the requested information.

After entering the data and clicking on "Register", you will receive an email to activate your account, so you can enter with your username and password. It is important that you do not share this information as it is personal and non-transferable.

.

In order to register you must have:

CUIL or CDI number, and national or foreign DNI issued by RENAPER. The "Process Number" is printed on the DNI, which consists of eleven digits, which is one of the data that you must complete.
Passport Number: foreigners who do not have a DNI may register with their Passport number. For these cases, all shipments that are managed from the Portal must be withdrawn in person by a branch with customs control.

2. Make a "Notice of Purchase"
If you have the tracking code with which the seller made the shipment, you can upload it to the International Shipping Portal, and thus make a Purchase Notice. In this way, we can notify you about the arrival of your shipment, faster and by email, instead of having to send you a telegram.

When your shipment arrives in the country, we will inform you that you will already be able to manage it on the Portal to receive it.

Making the "Purchase Notice" facilitates and streamlines the process of managing and receiving international shipments.

Tracking code

The site or seller where you made the purchase informs you.

You can find the code by entering the My Orders or My Purchases section on the site where you made the purchase.

Do not confuse the Order or Order Number with the tracking code.

Type of Tracking Codes

  • Registered Shipments: they have tracking throughout their journey.
They start with the letters R, C or E (For example: RM123456789CN) and are made up of two letters, nine numbers and two letters at the end.

  • Simple Shipments: have limited tracking or no tracking.
They can start with the letters
U or L (For example: UF123456789HK; LJ123456789US)
The tracking code for registered or simple shipments will always be made up of two letters, nine digits and two final letters that indicate the country of origin.

3. I received the notification of arrival in the country of your shipment
Correo Argentino will send you a notification informing you that the shipment has arrived in the country:

  • By electronic means (email) in the case of having generated a "Purchase Notice" with the code of origin tracking, or
  • By physical means (telegram) in the case of not having generated a "Purchase Notice".
It is necessary for you to retain this notice for several reasons:

  • It contains the Origin Tracking Code and/or the associated National Tracking Code, which is the one you will have to use to manage your shipment.
  • It tells you the deadline you have to complete the management, before your shipment is returned to the country of origin.
  • In the event that you have to pick up the shipment through a branch with customs control, you must present this notification.

What to do if you did not receive the notification?

  • If you have the tracking code that the sales site informed you, you can enter the Portal to manage it.
  • If you do not have the tracking code, we recommend you contact the seller.

If you received a notification but don't know the contents of the shipment:

  • You must enter the tracking code in the Portal, to do the process and then personally go to a branch with customs control to open the shipment, take note of the content and finish completing the declaration (see next step).

Within the Portal you must enter the tracking code and on the Declaration screen, select the option "I ignore the contents of the shipment".

After paying the Postage Fee, you will receive an email with the information of the branch to which you should go to learn the content of the shipment and thus be able to complete the declaration.

Change of distribution circuit

There may be reasons why your home delivery is reclassified by Customs to be withdrawn with customs control. In these cases, you will receive a new communication (via email) indicating the steps to follow and which branch to contact.

4- Complete the content declaration and payment management

Once Correo Argentino notifies you that the shipment has arrived in the country, enter the Portal with your username and upload the tracking code.

Complete the declaration and pay the corresponding amounts (Mail Management Fee and Customs Tariff if applicable)

How is it done?

Check the preloaded data returned by the system

  • Step 2 - Upload the detail of the content of your shipment:

heading
Description
Quantity
Unit value in USD

Click Add (+) for each product you want to add, in case you had to declare more than one item.

  • Charge the cost of shipping or "shipping" if applicable. When your shipment is "Free shipping" you must enter a value of 0.

Remember that…

While the declaration is in progress you will be able to add new products, modify the data of those that you have already uploaded or delete the added products; Once you have submitted it, you will no longer be able to modify it.

Who will collect the shipment from the branch with customs control?

In the event that your shipment has been classified to be withdrawn with customs control in a branch, you can go yourself, authorize a third party to do the management or request the representation of Correo.

  • Authorize a third party: you must inform who will go to the branch with Customs to pick up the shipment; the system will request the CUIL/CUIT/CDI number of the authorized person. This data will be recorded and cannot be modified.
  • Courier Representation: the face-to-face management before Customs is done by the Courier. If no observations arise from this verification, the shipment will be released for distribution at home. In the event that any observation arises from Customs, you will receive an email with the corresponding instructions.
  • Step 3 - Pay (Import Duties and Mail Handling Fee)
  • On the screen you will see the amount to pay that corresponds to your shipment according to what you declared and your availability of quota and franchise.
  • The amount on which the Import Duty is calculated is the value of the merchandise plus the shipping cost.

The franchise will be deducted from the total amount on which the fee is calculated.

Once the declaration has been completed and the amount has been seen, the system will enable you to pay the concepts and values that you will be able to pay.

What am I to pay?

Import Duties
For the first 12 shipments:
If the value of your shipment does not exceed USD 50, no payment corresponds.
If the value of your shipment exceeds USD 50, you will pay 50% on the excess of that value.
For example, if your shipment has a value of USD 70, the excess of USD 50 is subtracted; On that surplus of USD 20, you will pay 50% of Import Duties, in this case USD 10.

When you exceed 12 shipments in the year: you will pay 50% of the value of your shipment.
Mail Fee: $190.- in all cases.

How do I make the payment?

You can make the payment through these channels:

  • With a savings account or bank current account, through homebanking.
  • With VISA and MASTERCARD credit card.

You will receive an email to inform you that your payment has been confirmed.

If the shipment is a gift...

Gifts are not exempt from paying taxes or customs duties, so you will have to manage the declaration and pay the corresponding amount. For that, you will have to calculate the approximate value of the gift.

Books, magazines, printed matter and documents declared as such and considered by Customs as a non-commercial shipment do not require a declaration. We deliver them to you at home.

5- I received the shipment

Once you have made the payment, AFIP-Customs will determine if the shipment can be delivered to your address or if you must pick it up at a branch with customs control.

  • Delivery is made during Correo Argentino's usual service hours: from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the address that is detailed in the shipment.
