Yemenite shofar engraved with the Shema Israel

Artistic hand carved Yemenite Kudu Shofar by Israeli artist Andrey Sofin with Shema Israel theme. The Shofar is made of Kudu horn and belongs to the line of the so-called Yemenites . Color and shape may vary from pictured as each Shofar is unique.

Shofar's have always held a prominent place in Biblical history. Their sounds have often called the Jews to war and signified their victory. The Shofar cannot be made from a cow's or calf's horn, since according to Jewish tradition, it would be equivalent to remembering the worship of the golden calf (prohibited in the Torah - Old Testament).
